The following text details the privacy policy of the 'Remynd: Voice Reminders' mobile application.
The purpose of this policy is to explain to the user what information is handled by the application, why that information is handled, where that information is stored and how the application utilises that information.
This application is developed and provided by, Vandern Rodrigues, and is intended for use as is.
1. What information is handled and why
At the heart of this application is the ability to create reminders.
There are two flavours of reminders present in this application. The first is a reminder that has a voice recording attached to it and the second, a reminder that does not have a voice recording attached to it.
In either case, when the user chooses to create a reminder, they have the option of providing the following information during the creation phase:-
- Label (Text)
- Deadline (Date & Time)
- Notify prior duration
- Whether the reminder should repeat
- Repeat frequency (Hourly, Daily, Weekly)
- Notes (Text)
- Location (Text)
If the user opted to create a voice reminder, they will also be providing the following information:-
- Voice recording (Audio)
All of the above information is used by the application for one of two purposes only:-
- To schedule a notification
- To display/playback to the user when required
2. Where the information is stored
It is important to note that all of the information that is handled by the application, including the voice recordings, is stored locally on the device.
There is no communication with an external server and the application does not require an internet connection for it to function either.
The voice recordings are stored as WAV formatted files and the rest of the information is stored into a database.
3. How the information is used
As mentioned previously in section 1, the information collected by the application is used for either scheduling a notification or displaying/playing it back to the user.
The particular pieces of information used for scheduling a notification are:-
- Deadline - used for setting the date and time the notification should be received
- Notify prior duration - used for controlling how much prior to the deadline the notification should be received
- Whether the reminder should repeat
- Repeat frequency - used to control whether the notification should repeat hourly, daily or weekly
The pieces of information used for display/playback purposes are:-
- Label
- Notes
- Location
- Voice recording
